Cajun Shrimp Salad

There's no better time to try a shrimp recipe than summer! This Cajun shrimp salad is the perfect weeknight dinner recipe thanks to its refreshing, crunchy, cool, and spicy flavour.

What is Cajun cuisine?

Cajun cuisine is a plain & simple style of cooking that uses local ingredients and is easy to prepare. It originated in the Acadiana region of Louisiana.

Cajun cooking relies on a seasoning mixture with a signature heat provided by cayenne pepper, which is best known for its bold and complex flavors. Shrimp is part of a variety of traditional Cajun dishes, and that might be one of the best things about this style of cooking!

This Cajun Shrimp Salad recipe is not only gluten-free, but also promises to refuel your body with ample micronutrients, and lots of protein!

Key ingredients

If you're looking to really maximise that Cajun flavour, we'd recommend you use the Natural Spices Cajun Spices mix, along with Belberry Japanese Yuzu vinegar to add the perfect hints of sourness.

It goes without saying that our oil of choice for this recipe was the healthy and wholesome La Corvinia extra virgin olive oil.

We've also used generous quantities of prawns and mixed green vegetables.

Top tips from our chef

You can preserve this salad in the refrigerator for three days in a well-sealed container.

If you'd like to add a bit of a spicy kick to this salad, feel free to add a bit of cayenne pepper.

To be extra adventurous, simply add a few chunks of grilled chicken into the mix, and voila – you now have a land and sea salad!
